Hi all
I'm looking to buy Sony NP-F970 batteries plus a good charger; does anyone have an eBay store that they've been happy with their product and service?

Cheers

That's a good question, eBay & Amazon batteries are so hit and miss. Synergy used to be well liked, but they haven't gotten good reviews as of late.
Some of these generic batteries have one cell with a big empty shell, others have one cell with weights filling the void. Some cameras require a special chip in the batter in order for it to work properly with the camera, but accessories like LED lights and monitors are usually more forgiving.

I got a generic NP-F970 branded as Neewer for $20 on eBay, and it powers my 300 LED light at full brightness for about an hour.

Another option would be to buy used sony batteries, but they can lose capacity overtime, and there are a ton of fakes out there.
In the long run, you're probably better off with a $60 Watson or iKan battery from B&H.

You should be able to find a generic charger for about $5.

FYI, eBay & Amazon stores are notorious for advertising themselves as USA companies, and then shipping you the product from China; so if you need anything for an upcoming shoot, buy from an established USA company like B&H or Adorama.

I know there are lots of sellers but not all 3rd party batteries are good (i.e. some have woeful capacity); that's why I'm looking for recommended sellers.
cheers
