So I was able to make Vegas 9 super dark by downloading a new theme for XP. I love how Vegas looks, and I love the minimalistic windows taskbar. The only thing I'm not happy with is that my clips in the timeline all show up white until you click on one. Is there anyway to change that white to something else? Perhaps another XP theme? What are you guys using?

Ive found working with windows themes tricky. Yes i too love the super cool avid dark look. Its also easier on the eyes than blaring white backgrounds. but windows themes are not perfectly customizeable. Some elements/palettes would turn too white and you cant read the text in them. Or if you get something thats perfect for Vegas then when you open photoshop. The colors there will look off. Like all the menus might be unreadable. White text with white backgrounds or vice versa. So ull have to switch themes bewteen each app which is unworkable. Especially since many of us will have PS open alongside Vegas to work on text layers for titling etc. I feel most of these apps should have an inbuilt preference panel to set the colors of each part, and theres hardly too many. Just a simple color picker which we can pick for each element would be great. These programs are all worked on for hours by their users and colors should be adjustable to suit ones eye without strain.
 
I got lucky with this theme. It works great for both Vegas and Photoshop, along with DVD Arch. With After Effects, it's built in theme overrides the windows one, so no issues there either. Same with Blender.
 
is that vegas 9? If so if you changed it from the app right or from the os? If you changed the theme from the app it may be able to be done across most os's then.
 
Yes, it's Vegas 9. It's an OS theme. You just tell Vegas to use the system theme instead of it's theme. I did have to change the track colors, as well as the envelope colors to my liking, and that can be done in Vegas, but the dark grey is from my WinXP theme
