Super-Man Returns...to what?

1. Due to the rescent changes to Super-Man in the DC comics, how is the movie going to do justice to the present story? If they did, they would have to call it SuperJesus.

2. How can Clark return at the same time as Superman? I mean, I know Clark's disguise is clever and all, but...

3. Clark and Lois look they are from Smallville. Lois would have had to be like 14 when her child was born, if you were to try and figure the ages based on what I have seen in the trailer.

4. What is with the same story rehash thing? Come on. Superman was done to death (and I do mean to death) before. Why not start on a new note? Every one knows the old story.

I know I sound like a nerd, but if you are going to do something on an already tired subject, why not make it more realistic or just new and different.
I need a hero with more weakness and less titty baby crying about a chic. Spiderman, same road.

When I think "Super Hero", I think "kicking ass".

One thing excites me about this film - Spacey, that's it.

Senerio:

Super throws an nuclear piece of krytonite in to a dimenion that takes it the future. super man is rock hard. he lands on the ground looking at the normal people who bow to him.

Kid: Thanks for saving me god.
SM: God, I'm no god.
Kid: Yeah right.
SM: Hey I died once.
Kid looks athim long
SM: Well... Not died just in a coma for a year.
Kid: You suck.
SM: Why? I'm Superman!
Kid: You're perfect you're no man.
SM: I am too! I have weaknesses.
Kid: What is your weakness then.
Superman stumped. He punches the kid into dust and flies back to the Daily Planet.

CK: hey everyone you see superman save us.
LL: don't bullshit us Clark, you're superman.
CK: what?
LL: look you and superman disappear and reappear the same times. We're not dumb.
CK: But
LL: besides look how huge you are, you think anyone your size isn't superman? I mean jesus you like a moving wall!

lol.

Superman suck, I hate god in comics and movies defeats the hero journey aspect.

i dont like or read it but im a comic fan i just think it a little to late for this series. plus when it comes out it will look great all but will it have the magic for story, doubtful. thats one the reason Ratner left

visual yes story no.

plus lois having a kid and a husband already ruined the story line.

He died...I read that one.

The story has been dead for years.

If you are an avid reader, I don't understand how this doesn't bother you.

I used to be big into X-men and still have problems with first 2 movies, though I was entertained.

Please, how can this not bother you?

i love x men comics and i still think they needed stronger characters, making wolverine in sympathtic man isn't even who he is. hes mean, and a a$$. that why ou like wolvie not becuase he cared. he cared when he wanted to not always. wolvie was to be as bad marv from sin city.

hey I'm working on the IMAX 3D conversion right now and the film looks pretty exciting. Check it out for the 3D aspepct if you're not crazy about the character. I think the new story is a clever way to continue the franchise. Remember this film kind of takes place after part 2.

This movie will be great, can't wait, Batman is going right out the window once Superman flies in.

BS.

I cant wait till im right. I'm gonna see it opening day and if it fails it ill fall hard in witten text here.

this movie takes place after the second movie. it basically takes Superman III & IV out of the Superman-verse...

I can't wait to see it. I think it looks cool. I think the point of Lois having a kid is to show that after Superman left, she and the Metropolisians have moved on from having Superman around....

just my 2 cents...

I think if they are going to make a new superman for a new generation...they should start from the beginning...like they did with batman.

My problem with this is that we've seen Super-Man's origin story SO many times! The reason they did it with Batman was because they needed to actually do a good origin, Burton's while clever, was far from the comic (though there never really was ONE solid Batman origin.)

How about some live action LOBO!!

live action.

Some Lobo would be great.

I don't mean to sound soooo negative about the movie. I know it will be great visually. There is no question of that.
My beaf is the fact that, since I was a kid I dreamed of super hero movies that could tell the story and keep up with the effects needed. We are there now and I'm stoked, but the stories continue to suck. Some aren't so bad, but alot of them are. What gets me is that the story and storyboards are already there.
Who are these movies being made for anyway?

I've heard some bad things from people who've read the script online.

And to be honest i'm not too crazy about the bits i've seen of Spacey's Luthor in the trailer. Too campy. But then i think the whole thing maintains some of the camp feel of the original movies.

My ideal superman movie would be to use either the Jim Lee "For Tomorrow" arc or the Michael Turner "Godfall" arc. I felt Supes was put through some legitimate character development in both of those stories and they'd be awesome to see on the big screen as opposed to the generic story that seems to have been used for Superman Returns.

I am not a Superman geek but the familiar storyline seems a bit typical. But perhaps, this is for a new generatoin of kids ? I am sure Part 2 is already in discussions and maybe then we will see something else in the story

I AM ZOD!
