So every now and then in a video you might see a clip that is sped up a lot, but at the same time it looks smooth and not shaky from the camera at all, and you can also get a glimpse of what is going on in it for a quick second. I tried to produce this in FCP by just speeding up the clip to a very fast percent of 800-1000, and I had no luck of the look I am looking for. Can someone help me on what im doing, can this even be done in FCP?

you need to have the camera locked down on something really stable. if you need camera movement, then you need to have a dolly or something big/heavy to move the camera. also drop your shutter speed to 1/24 (if shooting 24p). the extra blur helps when speeding up the footage.
