Super cool motion control at Indy500 raceway

Tom McKay

Varizoom
This is Tom from VariZoom and we have a new, frame accurate, motion control system called the Cinema Pro. This is an absolutely awesome system that can pan 180 degrees in one second with a very smooth start and stop.

The Cinema Pro head was the choice of IndyCar for race event acquisition at the Indianapolis Speedway for speed and stability (See Video Below). This highly sophisticated, yet simple-to-operate system is frame accurate with 5 channels of control recording for exact repeatable motion control sequences.

We will have this system at CineGear Expo and is on display in Austin, TX, Los Angeles, and soon to be in New York City.

Here are some pics and links to Youtube where you will see some footage taken at Indianapolis with this head.

Control options include encoded hand wheels, pan bars, and console mounted joystick. I will share more pics and videos as we build the web page.

Yes, you can also set stops on the pan and tilt that will also ease / smooth in the last increments of set stops. It has default setting that can also be modified by operator. The control console is very intuitive and we also have an optional integrated switcher to allow for control of up to 7 heads.
Does it have easing in and out for the start and end points?

Thanks. It is available now and we will be at Cine Gear as well. The base price with master control system is about $18,000. Hand wheels and pan bars add another $3,000. Per each.

This looks incredible. What is the price? Tell us your bring MoCo to the masses?

That is basicaly a Talon head with your name on it. If I am correct that's a good head,
quite stable and easy to operate.

Yes, you're right! This is the same head and we are continuing work with same incredible engineers that created the Talon. It is definitely easy to operate and very reliable. From the time I first tested the product I was extremely pleased to find myself operating and setting stops and adjusting speeds etc within 15 minutes of turning the unit on.

The record of the engineers involved and their motion picture experience is all reflected in the mechanical design and ease of use. Thanks for your comments.
