Super 8 questions

So i was kinda interested in getting a 8mm camera to mess around with before school starts in the fall to get a sense of what it feels like to make some small films before college. First, do you recommend me getting a film camera to start off with? I was going to try to get a cheap camcorder but i'd rather work with film. and i was wondering how dou you edit what you've shot. i'm assuming that you send it off to be transfered to a dvd then edit it on your computer. but that's just a guess. anyway any help about 8mm cameras would be nice. thanks

Go grab yourself an 8mm camera if you want to shoot on film. I think that's a great idea. 8mm really has a cool "retro" look to it if it's developed right. And yeah, you'd have to have it transfered to digital so that you could edit it on a PC. It's a process called "telecine."
