Super 8 Processing

Yale...is by far.. the most knowledgable place to go...I've been there a few times and remember processing being about 15 bucks for 50 feet. They are the best. And above all they are really friendly. But the mere fact that I can go to Walgreens at 730pm and drop off my film and save about $5.00 sounds pretty good. However I dont want to count my chickens before they hatch..I want to wait and see how the film turns out. ( Nothing to do with Super 8... Both CVS and Walgreens process 110 film... which if done right produces great/grainy photos that sort of look like you took them off of the Super 8-- great for promo shots !!! )

Dwaynes handles all of the processing that is brought into stores such as Walgreens or CVS. I think it's great that Dwaynes was able to either keep these stores on account or add them as time has gone on.

If time is ever an issue, Dwaynes can turn around film same day and they are extremely reasonable on their return overnight shipping expenses. Last I heard they mark up their high volume and therefore severely discounted fed-ex shipping price one buck, so you'll find that if you need your film back in a hurry, the return fed-ex cost is nowhere near as much as what it costs to send the film to Dwaynes.

In LA, Besides Yale Film and Video, and I agree they are very friendly, Spectra Film and Video is another Super-8 film processing option. Although at present time they don't do daily processing so if one is in a hurry they just may take it Yale so they can get it back fast enough to do the film transfer to video work. Spectra does really nice rank cintel transfer work in all film formats.

Just came back from CVS...No luck... the Super 8 Cartridge was returned unprocessable... which is a big bummer... So eventhough they said they could do it...looks like they can't. I walked accross the street to Walgreens (everyone knows me there now) and handed it to them... going to have to wait another 2 weeks.... the adventure continues....

Any news on this thread? I'm doing research about super 8 and would like to get more info about processing. -thanks!

What type of mailers are you pulling the film in? Are they Fuji Mailers? Take a picture! Show us!!!
