Sunset / CTO Lighting Question

If I'm shooting with tungsten balanced film, and cover a window in CTO gel, and shoot while the sun is setting, will I be able to get a more yellow/orange light coming in?

I am working with tungsten lights, and could use CTS (straw) during mid-day sun, but I don't want to drop $110 for another roll of gels...

Or, if I use CTO on the window in mid-day sun, does someone know basically what an inverse of CTS would be to gel my tungsten lights inside, and then correct in post?

this is sorta what I am looking to go for....

That's tough but I would say maybe it won't work. Here's my reasoning. The film is balanced for tungsten or 3200K. The one layer of CTO will make the more bluish daylight coming in closer to 3200K, thus the tinted daylight should appear more white on the film. I think you need several layers of CTO or serious amber color tint to get the warmer orange on the tungsten balanced film...

Man I've never really tried this one before, lets see, Yellow is about 3500? Straw and CTO both bring 5500 to @ 2900. Yellow reduces blue and allows red and green to pass. A 90 Yellow reduces blue by 3 stops. Yellow on tungsten film is between 1800 and 2200? The setting sun is 2600? Wow you're working in a very narrow temp range with a bunch of orange light. The only thing I could say is shoot some tests and see what will work, you need to remove a little bit of the little amount of blue that is there. Please post your results, that will be interesting to see.

What if I shot at night, placed a silk behind the glass door, and a 6 or 9 fey behind the silk outside? Then I could control all the color temps alot better. Do you think a 6 or 9 fey could pull off the sun leaking in look? Or would it look like... a light behind a silk...?

for kicks at giggles... this is the actual room.... my digi cam balanced to daylight, the light was getting a little lower than i wanted it, but I snapped it off when I could. I had a little fog on it too.

maybe sunset light... daylight film, ctb on the tungsten for a little fill on the faces... how about that?

Yes, I believe that would work. Looks pretty good to me. Is that new photograph yellow enough for you? I was under the impression maybe you were looking for more deeper sunset type effect.
