Sunny looking lighting

300 max but if you can get it into the 100-200 range that would be great

Well, you're not likely to find a light which emulates "the sun" for that (unless you get really lucky on eBay or something), particularly if you're actually shooting outdoors, so you're going to want to be looking into reflectors.

Thanks for the helpful posts RyanT.

for 200-300 I think the best option would be making foil coated cardboard and having people hold them in place. Or you could rent an hmi if they're available near you.

i like the idea of shooting thru a frame of diffussion with a reflector. Also don't rule out the scrimm jim - it's fast, portable grid you can make - not as sturdy as a big frame you could get from a rental house but you can have 2 guys handhold it if its not too windy.

walmart flashlight

walmart flashlight

I"ve used a giant flashlight from walmart to create sunlight in shaded areas and after the sun has set. It's 39 bucks but it does wonders ..you have to place it back quite a ways but it will light up oneor two actors.
