i'm shooting a scene where sun rays are coming through a window onto a person on the floor. the window itself will not be in the shot, only the rays coming through. how can i make sure that the rays are detailed enought to see? i want to be able to tell that it's a sun ray. i'm using a DVX100A. is there a way to help the look by using the camera settings or should it be done in post? i have Vegas 5.
thanks

How about dispersing a little dust (or smoke or even steam) into the sunbeam. Would that fit in with the scene? Don't even need that much...just enough to give the sunbeam a little substance.

yep, light an insense to enhance the sun beam.

Yes air particales are the key, but don't overdo it. It also helps to block out other light to keep the room dark. In fact you may want to do a night shoot.
