Suit on Job Interview?

I will not wear a polo shirt. Especially tucked in. It's like the Merlot of upper torso wear. Not a rule for everyone, just this one.

There, I've said it.

Wear something that looks good and you are comfortable/confident in. If you feel awkward 'cause you are wearing a suite you'll come off as awkward to the interviewer.

I typically wear a black or maroon dress shirt, black jeans and black, square-toed boots. I also have black and red (or purple or blue or green or orange) hair so, as my gf points out, it's kinda hard for me to look "stuffy" no matter what I wear.

Just make sure whatever you wear that your clothes are pressed, unless it's linen, wrinkled is not good.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the no-tuck rule. And don't wear an actual Polo-brand polo. Or Izod. Unless you're applying to shoot the next Tea Partay spot.

the only thing i can tell you based on my experiences, cutoff jeans and a wife beater...big no no.

I generally just wear what I wear. If they don't want to hire me because of what I wear, I probably don't want to work for them anyway. I have the same rule for software work as well...
