Suggestions on other forms of DVX protection?

I have to shoot some snowboarding footage next saturday, and have no snow casing for my DVX. I would never dare take it up without a cover, but I basically have to go. Does anybody know of any alternatives to buying a $250 snowcase for the camera? DIY? Cheap alternative? I just cant afford much right now. Thanks.

2 big ziploc bags. One bag for each end of the cam. Cut a hole for the lens and top handle.

Works great for me whenever I ski with my DVX.

You didnt make clear if you are going to be snowboarding with the camera, or just up in the snow shooting video of snow boarders.

Ski Utah's suggestion is not a bad one if you have no budget for proper protection. You have to balance the risk of damage to your camera (and they "hate" water) against the cost of protection.

I used to just ski with my camera's and accept the risk, but only during good weather.

Thanks Bill,

It will probably be a bit of both, primarily just nested in the snow, and then boarding on the way back down to the lifts, repeat. Is SkiUtah's advice a decent workaround? Is it ok to get moisture (aka snow, etc.) on the open lens? I dont know how else to protect it, I mean I shoot with a UV and a POLARIZER when shooting this kind of footage, but just getting moisture in that "area" of the camera scares me.
