I'll be shooting a video which will include in camera explosions made by pyro technic guys.
The thing is, I haven't tried this before, and having scoured through the various forums, I haven't been able to find some hints as to how I should treat my camera settings.
I've gathered as much as:
- shoot at 50fps
- shoot at above 1/120s
- Manual WB (but set to what? daylight? I'll be coloring the HMIs due to the play with colors in the video...)
The explosions will most likely be bursts of fireballs, appearing some way behind the two talents. So I'm thinking that I should frame and stop down for the explosion as to avoid them burning to white.
Are there any general settings I could go by as default?
Since the explosions would control the stop, I would have to get appropriate light power. How much are we talking about here to match the explosions? 1K? 2K? More?
The camera is the FS100 with the var ND from Heliopan in front. Will be on the wide end, and probably stopping down to begin with to get large DoF.
Thanks for your time.
