Suggestions for shooting at night in a car?

So I'm planning on shooting a short scene but two problems are arising. The scene takes places in a moving car at night but with my budget of as close to $0 as possible I'm trying to figure out how I'd pull this off. I'm thinking shoot day for night but than it's going to be a pain in the ass to properly shoot the moving car with two actors in the front seats. What I was thinking of doing is shooting during the day in my driveway and green screening the side/rear windows than adding the moving elements in post along with the night effects. Would anyone know of an easier solution keeping in mind I've never really worked with green screen before or day for night (although I did watch the tutorial on videocopilot).

one idea that I've done, albeit just on some tests that seemed to come out decent for me was choosing a location at night to drive past that has a long stretch of a lot of lights, like a town center type of thing or highway that has a lot of lighted stuff on the side so that even though it's night it illuminated the driver enough for me to get decent footage of them.
Either that OR, you can attach a cheap camera light to your camera and diffuse it a lot, or try even using a flashlight perhaps but put a lot of diffusion in front of it so the effect is very subtle and makes it look like it's natural/outside light

battery operated fluorescent lights. <10$ each and you mount them around the inside of the car and use some scrap gels/diffusion to match them? Most films use something similar to film car interior scenes.
