Hello everyone,
I am hoping for some suggestions concerning a good computer to edit on. I shoot with a dvx100A and edit using Sony Vegas. I intend to move to an hd cam in about a year.
I assume a pc would be the best way to go since I own Vegas and would rather not have to purchase final cut along w/a mac. I am not very computer savy; I understand that I would probably be best off going with something with an i7 processor. My budget is approx 1200 to 1500 dollars.

There are several computers in my range that seem decent, Dell & HP & Gateway, and others like SYX and IBUYPOWER, and I really have no intelligent way to choose one over the next. I have read that the best thing is to "build" one but as I said I am not the most computer-minded person and I feel like I would probably be better off purchasing an already-assembled unit.
