Suggestions for a Production Monitor

We are in the editing phase and searching for good NTSC 16:9 monitor to connect to a PawerMac. We are using FCP and are editing for DVD but really need a monitor for correct color correction. Any suggestions on model and make at a decent price? Any used monitors out there?

Re: Suggestions for a Production Monitor

I use the Sony PVM 14L1. It is a great, affordable monitor good for color correcting. It can display 16:9 too. The only hting is that it is missing blu-gun and underscan but u can use a blue gel filter for calibrating and your comp monitor for underscan. It sells for under or around $500.

Hope this helps,

The L5 is sweet, but do you need 800 lines of resolution? I compromised and got the PVM14L2 and am very happy with it.

I have that same monitor and am very happy with it. It is more than adequate in the input/output, calibration, being able to view 16:9 etc. and if you wanted you could upgrade it to accept firewire input too! It'll last you a very long time. Good solid choice.

I just found my Amiga 500 monitor. Will it be useful as production monitor or field monitor? or i´ts cannon fodder (i don´t think so anyway)? What will be a nice use for it?
