Suggestions for $2000 max Lighting Kit

Hi guys,

I was wondering if you guys could offer some insight into what kind of a lighting setup you would would use if you were to build your kit from scratch right now (as of Sept 2011). Any ideas and links to specific equipment would be greatly appreciated. Evidently you can run off to BHPhoto and buy the most expensive lights if money was no object however we're talking $2000 max for an independent. I have done some research into the various types of lights such as Halogen,Flo,LED but evidently I'd love to hear from the more experienced DPs and Gaffers about what's a good deal and a good combination that has worked for them.

Narrative, interviews, etc.

I am thinking of building a mole richardson fresnel kit. You can do pretty good for 2000.

another option is the cool-lights fresnels, they look pretty good for the money.

if you are just doing interviews than simple softboxes would be good (it is what I use and they work very well)

I have about 8 Mole 407's completely refurbished and two Mole 2k Zip Lights. For around $700 i could get you Zip and two 407's, or three 407's. For less than $1000 you can get these with beefy baby stands.

Intended use would be narrative short film work. Maybe trying to keep the kit as flexible, lightweight, and as small of a footprint as possible within that $2000 budget though.
