suggestions about moving files between AE and Vega

Regarding loss and compression. Starting files in AE/Magic Bullet for initial 24p conversion, then taking a lot of these small clips into Vegas for assembly and sound synch, then back to AE6.5pro for final color correction, etc with Magic Bullet Look Suite, etc. How much do we lose with the usual codecs? The uncompressed mode makes huge files and it is a 70 minute run time project. Is this our best option. Final output is for festival projection and DVD distribution... how much difference will the compression and recompression make?

You have to go uncompress! Using any "compression" is not a good idea. Yes, files are going to be huge but its definetly worth the sacrafice. That's the only way I can think of in terms of preserving maxium quality. You can also try editing in AE to cut some of the hassle.
