Suggest getting Adobe Premiere Pro CS3?

About to buy. Do you recommend it? Can you do any colour grading on it? And also, for effects, do you need After Effects as well?

(I'm new to adobe, as you can see lol)

The CS3 version is great and will do most of what you need - BUT - it does work better as part of a solution with After effects. If you buy them together as part of the producion package you get a few other nice tools thrown in which makes the pachage a great deal.

I also purchased a copy of Magic Bullet 2.0 which gives me about all the control I feel I need - and boy can you do some great things with this setup

I think if you buy CS3 now you will get a free upgrade to CS4 when it comes out

Ooh any chance you remember where you saw this? If I can verify it I'll go ahead and up grade now. I've been waiting for this to come along.
 
Adobe's supposed to have a big announcement/unveiling for CS4 next Tuesday, according to AppleInsider. I certainly wouldn't be rushing out to buy CS3 before seeing what they announce and when they release it.
