Sufficient backup?

I recently lost a project (feature) I had been editing for 3 weeks due to a crash of the raid HD. I had only the mxf files backed up. I want to avoid this happening a second time so here is how I am now capturing footage:

1 . MXF files moved via firewire to external drive A

2. Log and transfer used to capture video with a 2 drive Raid O (drive B)
used for capture scratch

3. Mac internal HD used for auto save , waveform and thumbnail cache

4. External USB drive used to back up MXF files weekly

Is this a reasonable backup system? If not, what should I change?

I do the two drive system, one on the computer for active use and a large external drive used only for back ups and sometimes unneeded item storage. It's global backup images for me, though. It won't hurt to save your project files on the external occasionally, but it doesn't have to be every save or even every day to be effective. Just enough that you don't have to completely start over if something goes bad.
