FEATURE: Sucka 4 luv

capitalP

Veteran
This is my third feature. Below is the synopsis. I plan on doing something I have never done before as far as the release of this. I will make it available online only for streaming or downloading. Anyone have tips for marketing, not sure what else to do besides the usual facebook/twitter etc...? One thing I started doing is releasing clips from the movie every week until the release date, which will be on Valentine's day.

Here are two trailers below as well as the new clip for this week.

Plot: Plot: A man with anger issues will get the opportunity to marry his girlfriend only if he survives 30 days of anger boot camp.

My new movie is now available for Pre-Order. I also have a new trailer up. This is my first time doing the Vimeo ONDEMAND. Just like any method of distribution the key is really marketing. So I will keep you guys posted as far as how the progress goes for the next few months.

You can pre-order at www.pierrefilms.com

So far I've just been doing mostly facebook marketing and I think it's going good so far. But of course the real test will be if it translates to people actually buying or renting the movie. Time will tell.

I need the DVX community to tear me a new one. I know you guys are the toughest critics out there, even if you don't watch the movie, at least tell me what is wrong with my trailers. I use to read some of the feedback you guys use to leave filmmakers and man, you guys are tough. Tough in a good way though. So I need to feel some of that toughness. So let's start out with the trailers. Tell me how could I have improved my trailers...

Third feature with fb page and reviews and a Vimeo for-rent and a rottentomatoes page? Shoot, I need lessons from you on how to get-things-done.

Hey cap, sound in the trailer was pretty bad, lots of excess background noise (I'm assuming wasn't a shotgun mic? or need to run high pass or loss pass filters through it, I'm no sound guy). Some music would be be great over the trailer.

Also picture looks good but maybe try to get a glide cam, I had one and it was awesome though the fore grip at the least is a necessity. Other thing you can do is make a fig rig from a steering wheel for a good time compromise.

The main actor and actress were good. Looks pretty good to me all in all.

:cheesy: Nothing to it but to do it Nyci. But I'm pretty sure you've got some pretty cool things under your belt as well, you wound't be on here if you didn't it. I still got a long way to go and some of the members on here are my motivation.

THIS IS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Some good constructive criticism.

As for the Mic, we recorded through an external Mic but we did have a shotgun. This is the first time a sound issue was mentioned, then again you know how we DVX-ers have an eye and ear for things the regualr folks miss out on. And I did wish I had some of the cool toys mentioned so I could of gotten better shots. Thanks for weighing in.

I'm very new to film making but yea the trailer was good the audio is what threw it off most time. I cant wait to see this it s looks like a very good concept and from what i can tell a few really good subplots, Ill be following your project on facebook.

Hey Joey, thanks for the input. Glad you liked the trailer. Would love to know what you think about it after you've seen it. And how new are you to filmmaking? Have you done any projects?

I have tried to do things on my own but had little success. I recently joined a film crew were i live that make live action shorts of video games. i found a few local actors who are willing to work for credit on a short film I have written and will be directing here in a few days. I really do hope that i have the talent i think i do, as soon as I'm finished ill post for feedback. keep and eye out for it its called ''As luck would have it"

Quick edit

You should definitely post it here on DVX to get some honest feedback. Good luck with it.
