Submitting music for...

How does one submit music to be used on an upcoming Movie or TV show Soundtrack? Most of the music I create is what I am told soundtrack driven, meaning the people can visualize a scene based on what they hear in the music! I also have a brother that is a Music Producer that is in between projects and I keep telling him that he needs to consider doing soundtracks or scores for movies. How would I or we go about submitting music?
 
Until someone who actually knows pops in, how about this. If I were looking for people to make a soundtrack for a film, I'd want to hear their work being used in a film , not just bare naked with no visual context.

So...score a film, or at least some scenes from a film..and use that as a demo reel.
 
Well the only thing with that is, you need to content i.e. a film or scenes of a film to score. Alot of people that hear my work can visualize without actually watching something on screen, which got me thinking!
