Subjective Value

Just two weeks ago spoke with a friend about how nice it would look to see a marble going down stairs in slow motion, each drop
creating more and more tension, they stopped me before I could finish and told me to work on story first, then images. Your comment is dead on thanks.

i take all me good ideas and write them down and eventually before i know it - i have a smashing idea thats a whole script!
Nothing wrong with making a poster to inspire yourself but you cant really start to shoot (usually) till you have a script!
So get cracking!

Here's your marble going down a staircase in slow-mo scene:

It also happens to be one of the most remembered and incredible moments in gaming history, when Sephiroth kills Aeris (Aerith) in Final Fantasy 7.

The marble's actually called MATERIA, but it's applicable to this-- the reason why that shot--even in a game--is because of the significance of the LIFE materia that Aeris/Aerith had and what she represented for the group of heroes.

That moment, when the marble's going down the staircase, is pretty much her soul separating from her body and entering the peaceful river, so the staircase itself is a transition from physical life to metaphysical, where she returns to that whence she came from and her spirit energizes the water that holds the materia.

Add that you get really attached to these three characters in this scene and you've got a pretty strong narrative.

Story's important, believable characters and well-written dialogue's also important.

Posters are sales tools.

Yes, yes, script is being worked on night and day, rough draft will be complete by Monday or before, all story no images focused, focused.

What good harmony, the time code at 2:27 MATERIA theme music is a pleasant transition.

Yeah I know, right? That's her theme song. After she dies it's a mainstay in the game and a reminder of why you're really fighting.

The change characters take in their personal transitions a frequency changes in and around them, and if a director can pull that out of the cast then maybe one will have something extremely brilliant.

Really trying hard to work on story but there are so many facets to keep everything connected and moving forward, that sometimes i just want to jump into the art work first. The amount of index cards are starting to get ridiculous.

so this is a final fantasy screenplay?
never played the game

Nah, he's not talking about an FF script. Just pointed him to a marble and stairs scene that had impact, and why. Just happened to be from a game.

And, yeah, it's the shizzle dizzle.

Nope, Just commentating about different ways to bring story lines of characters out thru a unique directing style.

While writing, my biggest concern was how to get it to look as sharp as posters that feel hypnotic, or for that matter a trailer that pulls you out of your seat. Its realized that people spend much energy making things look so good, that you say, "wow they nailed it", and in the back of your mind you have good and a bad on each shoulder one says "a human did not make that its too good" and the other "see what the possibilities are now its your turn".

Guess a poster is a way to recall a film no matter how much time passes, one needs electricity to groove on a film and light to view a sign and one can hear what a title is with no light or electricity.
