Stuttery p2 clips when captured

Most of the clips I am importing from P2 log and capture in FCP come out stuttery. Do I need more RAM? I attached a screen grab of how the footage was shot.
Thanks!

The clips are from my P2 files on a firewire hard drive. I've tried to move them to the computers hard drive but it didn't seem to make a difference.
Is that what you meant?

A single FW HD might not have the power to send those files to FCP. You'll need a raid setup I believe.

Yes, DVCPRO HD 720p 60 frames per second isn't do-able on FW400. Works on a FW800 for me just fine. DVCPRO HD 720p 30 fps is about the upper limit for FW400.

Yeah, but, I have tried moving the main P2 files to my G5's main hard drive and they still turn out stuttery. Could it possibly have something to do with the vidrate?

Well... your main HD is worse than your FW drive - system/program/media... not good!!. If you have a second internal that would be to your advantage.
