Stupid Question

I'm not really a technical guy, I want to learn as much as possible, so forgive me if this question sounds stupid. I plan on working on a feature next year and I'm saving up for a decent budget..

I plan on buying the Anamorphic adapter to get that true widescreen, the question I have is what is the 35mm adapter, when I think 35mm, I'm thinking Film, does it give your image a true film look or what. I read the 3way shoot out, but if you don't know what the adapter is or does, the article confuses you. And how about the Matte Box..? Here I thought the Matte Box was a hood cover until I saw the price, it's gotta be a lens right... I have to buy one of those things next year, I just wanna make the right investment, I'd apreciate any input.

Or should I just chill and not worry about the technical stuff, hec I want my film to look nice, sure if you don't have a good story you don't have a film, but why not make it look pretty... Help!

35mm Adapter allows you to use a 35mm camera lens on your DVX. The reason is to obtain a more limited DOF.

The Matte Box is a lens shade and ,usually, also a filter holder.

35mm adapters won't make it look like film. If you have a good adapter then it might look great, some people might be fooled into thinking it is film. You can't expect too much from these adapters, as a lot of making video look like film comes down to good lighting. 35mm adapter are used to create a shallow depth of field, which is commonly used in filmmaking. A mattebox is used mainly for filters, but also works like a sunshade. A lot of people on this site would probably say that it looks professional, and I would have to agree. So my advice is to study lighting or get someone with a good lighting package that can help you out.

Thanks guys, great advice. I'm a little clear on what I need to do now! A world without DVXusers is a World I wouldn't want to live in! :) wait maybe that comment is a little extreme, but I do appreciate the quick and clear response.
