stupid question

A stupid question-- will I see a significant benefit by coupling a Letus adapter to a prosumer camcorder like the XH-A1, compared to coupling a Letus to a burrito HD camcorder like a Canon VIXIA HF100 (1920x1080)? What I mean is, the XH-A1 or other prosumer camcorder has a great lens, iris, etc., but are such benefits lost given the fact that it is the 35mm SLR lens attached to the front of the Letus adapter that is in a sense doing the focusing and light gathering of the images? I am on the verge of buying an XH-A1s and Letus Extreme, unless I would not see much more of a benefti from the XH-A1s over my current "burrito" (hand held consumer quality HD) camcorder.
