sorry for the dumb question but whenever you have a hard drive with a raid 0
running at FW800 do you have to connect both FW800 cables to the mac or pc?
reason why I ask is because every hard drive that I see thats fw800 has two ports so I thought 2 hard drives as raid mmmmm... maybe I need to connect both ports to the mac

anyone?
 
No.... it should be just one.... that other port acts as USB or FireWire Hub. So you can daisy-chain harddrives. I have 2 FW and 2 USB on my single 300GB external so...
 
Just in case you aren't aware, the Raid 0 is not a safe choice. If you lose a drive, you lose it all. The best configuration is a Raid 5, as it is a redundant set up.

I found this out the hard way.
