Stunt coordinator; throwing scene

I'm looking for a certified stunt coordinator for a throwing scene in my film.
An actor needs to be jerked from a standing position and thrown into a wall 10 feet away.

I've talked to someone who knows stunts but isn't certified, and that's a problem for both me and the insurance company.

He said we'd probably need to pull the guy, in a vest, on TWO wires; one for the horizontal pull and one for the lift.

-Who should I contact to ask about this? Where do I find a stunt coordinator?
-What might the $$$ be?

The stunt you're looking to have done is called a ratchet. It doesn't use two wires. The setup using a jerk vest on the stuntman/performer and a single cable/wire set at an angle. If it's rigged and executed by the right person, it's very safe and very easy.

You will have a hard time finding someone that is a "Certified" Stunt Coordinator. Mostly because that doesn't exist. There is no such thing as a stunt certification. There are a few places that teach stunts, and will hand you a certificate of completion from those classes, but in the industry they really mean nothing at all.
It all comes down to qualifications. If the resume is legit, and the coordinator is qualified, then you have the right person.

The rates differ depending on the project. If you're running a SAG production, of any caliber above student film or short film with differed pay, the rates for a coordinator are $759/8 hour day. If it is a non-union deal, or SAG student film/short film, then the rate is always negotiable and dependent on the coordinator. I, myself, never work for less than $250/8 hour day as a coordinator unless it's a student film.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck and Be Safe!
