I'm selling a DVX anamorphic adapter (Panasonic) converted (trimmed) by Able Cine for matte box, used for one short film, like new, $550 firm.

Also selling Panasonic DV2500 deck, low mileage (57 hrs) for $1100 firm ... Needed if you use Panasonic tapes (which I'm told you should)...

Mac,

I just shot 15 hours of tape at Burning Man '05 and am suddenly very curious about decks. Unfortunately, $1100 is presently WAY out of my price range, but I was wondering -- as the new owner of a DVX100A who doesn't want to use the camera as a playing deck (in order to baby the heads) -- does anyone make some kind of extremely cheap, slimmed-down 'player only' MiniDV deck that can be used to connect to a PC and/or play the tapes directly to the yellow/red/white connectors on a TV?

Thank you very much for any info you might have on the subject,

Robert

Funny, this same question was just answered in another thread as well.

Robert, just purchase a decent miniDV camera (I purchased a nice little JVC from Best Buy for around $300) to capture your tapes onto your editing system with. It'll also double as a small little camera you can take on personal trips, etc. when you may not want to pack around the DVX.

I'm just across the river from you in Vancouver, so welcome to DVXUSER! Glad to have you posting.

Damn, that's a really great idea, Norm. I guess with all the bells and whistles on the DVX I hadn't really thought about how a standard MiniDV camcorder might work well as a deck. I assume this poses no problems for getting footage taken in 24P-Adv mode from tape to PC.

Thanks a lot,
Robert

Same question was asked in the other thread as well. Nope, no problem at all, I do it all the time (capture my DVX's 24PA from the miniDV cam).
