Alright, I have an existing overhead softbox that was built for use with strobes but now they want to do videos so I need to put hot lights in it. The problem is that the materials we used for the strobes are not heat resistant at all so we cannot simply put some photo floods in there and be done with it. also I believe the diffusion fabric is 1/4 stop, not full...
Our idea so far is to cut the fabric top of the box off so that we can get ventilation for the hot lights, but leave the sides to control spill. Then using two 1k fernels, one for each side, shooting through full silk and then through the existing 1/4 stop silk.
The other idea would be to put tota lights in place of the strobe heads, though I am guessing this would lead to some hot spots.
any thoughts?
