Studio Intercom/ Communications

A while back I posted about sound proofing my studio (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?249874-Sound-Proofing-a-Studio) which has worked really well.

I now have the issue of needing to communicate with people inside the studio from the control room. I had initially, quite naively, purchased a two channel fm intercom to use but have found that it runs interference with my wifi and most other gear.

I have been looking at a 900MhZ Intercom (http://www.digitalcentre.com.au/p/4682761/wireless-portable-intercom-voice-activated.html) but am not entirely sure that I won't come across the same issue.

Has anybody had any experience in this area or found a useful solution. I am not committed to an intercom I just need some comms to be able to speak with those in my now soundproof studio.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

Check out the Presonus Central Station. It's a monitoring solution for recording studio control rooms, but it would be very useful in this context as well. Allows you to switch between different sets of monitor speakers, has a built in headphone amp and decent DA Converter, as well as a built in talk-back mic in the remote with a push-button switch for operation. Combine it with a mic hung from the ceiling in the studio and you'll be all set.
