Studio HD question

I've got Vegas Studio HD 11 -- not Platinum.

In looking at my list of render templates, it appears that at some point I figured out a way to modify an existing template and save it under a new name -- something the online Help says can only be done in Platinum. But I have no idea how I did it, and can't seem to figure it out now.

Anybody got a guess?

Okay, I thought I had it figured out. I also have Vegas Pro 8.0c. I thought maybe I'd created the render templates in Pro, then copied them into the proper folder for Studio to find them. So I created a new one in Pro, found the .sft file, renamed it to .sft2 (which is what the others are named), and put it into the "Render Templates" folder. Studio still doesn't see it, even after rebooting.

I've looked at the attributes for the files, and they look the same. Oddly, some other render templates that are available in Studio -- things that I obviously created, given the names -- are nowhere to be found on a search of my C:\ drive.

Maddening!

GOT IT!

I go into Tools > Selectively Pre-Render. There, it will let me create new render templates or modify existing ones, though only for .AVI and "Main Concept MPEG-2". But once I create a new template there and save it, or modify an existing one and save the changes, then that template becomes available in the list when I go to render out.

Making progress!
