Student/Teacher version Adobe

I'm about to enroll-audit some courses at a local university who doesn't sell Adobe products in its bookstore anymore. I plan to order Production Bundle, probably from B&H so I can have PP and After Effects. Has anyone out there had any experience with the Student/Teacher versions of Adobe? And, as I do not want to get into Cloud--best places to get hard copies, not downloads? Any other experiences, like do you have to be enrolled full-time? Thank you in advance.

I feel I'm alone here, talking to myself. I don't mean to revive the ADOBE CC debate, but just wanting some input from others experiences. I'm inclined to buy CS6 because I fear Adobe will be raising prices across the board in the future.

I purchased the student version of CS6 from the computer shop at George Mason University last spring. I was only enrolled in two courses. I think to get the student version of most Adobe products you have to prove that you are enrolled at a college.

There's no big problem - if you're a genuine student who has a ID badge to prove you really exist, that's about it. My son had one of the packages when he was a student CS4, I think, and he just sent them a scan of the badge (UK based). Best do it quick before the cloud is the only way.

You may not think you want the CC version today, and would rather have software you think you OWN, but in 6 months you will regret being stuck using a product without any future updates, as the rest of the world progresses. The student version of Production Premium CS6 is around $550. The complete CC version library is roughly $20 a month. That gives you around 27 months of CC use with software updates, for the same price as CS6.

Yes the student version just requires proof of being a student. When I was a student I bought as much software as I could at the discounted prices. The adobe software can legally still be used commercially once you graduate. The student versions are the same, save for the serial number process. The box will have a paper and link to where you go online to fill out a form before they will email you the serial numbers. Install it, enter the serial numbers and then you activate it online and you are done. The easiest way to validate is by submitting your student email address. Whether to do the CC or CS6 is your choice. RIGHT NOW the student price for CC is cheap.....but.....Let's just leave it at I bought CS6 and will not do the cloud.

Get the student and teacher edition imho.

Get the student pass scanned first.

Cheers
Thanks to all who have responded. I've decided that I am going to buy the CS6 Production Bundle. I love this community, hoping I can 'pass it on' of any experiences/knowledge I've acquired some day.
