Strobing Hotspots in Premiere Pro 1.5

I've shot some footage with a DVX100A, 24P(A), and captured with Premiere. There are areas that I have intentionally blown-out for aesthetic reasons. But there's a problem -

WHen I watch the footage, all the hot spots "strobe' or "flicker" on and off...which is extremely distracting. I don't know what caused this exactly, but even worse, I don't know of anyway to remedy the situation. Playing with the contrast/brightness/whatnot in post didn't seem to yeild any results.

I've searched the web, and not found anyone else talkin about having this problem. Can anyone help?

I took a look at the footage. It difficult to tell what caused the flicker. Were there flourescent lights being used?

Maybe try applying "Flicker removal," in the field options.

I like how their solution was: purchase premiere pro 2.0!

To be fair, there's also a solution given that does not involved purchasing PPro 2.0. Don't know how well it works though. My biggest gripe with Adobe is their lack of intermediate maintenance releases. This strobing problem was identified as soon as 1.5 was released but no patch fix was ever released until you could buy the fix in 2.0. Really bad business practice if you ask me.

I've tried the color corrector - did that before I actually posted on this forum, and it didn't help, unfortunately.

I have 2.0, thankfully, I'm just still wary of using it due to how much it hogs memory compared to 1.5. Seems like its time for a switch :D
