I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of this flicker/strobing. I understand shooting a crt and it's refresh rate but I didn't think a lcd screen had that problem. Any Ideas on smoothing it out? I have tried every filter in FCP with no help. Here is a sample file. www.e-motionsmedia.com/flicker.mov

I believe the flicker you are seeing is from the backlight on the LCD. I believe the solution will be to start trying different shutter speeds until you find one that eliminates the flicker.

This isn't something that can be easily fixed in post. The correct solution is to use the SYNCRO SCAN shutter speed option to establish an non coincident shutter speed when shooting an object such as a screen. LCDs, like CRTs can exhibit similar problems. In the case of a LCD it can be both the speed of the LCD and the characteristics of the inverter used to drive the CCFT (back light).
