Stripping Lenses

Has anyone tried stripping lenses while using a 35mm lens adapter? I have an HVX and am planning on purchasing a Redrock adapter for Nikon Lenses. I want to achieve the naturally diffused and "less than perfect" image that stripped lenses provide in Film application. My understanding is that without the coating on the lens light will just bounce around in the lens allowing you to capture flares and a naturally diffused look.
My intention is to make short films, so I don't mind the loss of image quality...

If anyone has tried this have you experienced good results? Any problems?

Please continue to describe your desired look. Diffused image... do you mean blooming highlights? Do you mean low contrast?

By letting light bounce around your lens you are basically allowing lens flares which technically will reduce your contrast and appear to drop the saturation level.

If you can better describe your desired look, perhaps I could help you help me understand what would make that happen.

I think I understand what you are saying, but can I have you also clarify the sentence "My intention is to make short films, so I don't mind the loss of image quality..." You certainly mean this is the desired look for this short film, right?

Well, I am always experimenting in post trying to rid my footage of the HD look, with Magic Bullet and the like.

By saying I don't mind the loss of image quality I mean I'm not looking for the pristine crisp image HD provides.

So i like the blooming highlights, light streaks and hazy skin tones.. And that's a general stylistic choice.

My main interest is directing. So this is a style I want to build upon for my personal projects.
