Strip a multichannel Quicktime of its audio?

Is there anyway to strip a 6 discreet channel quicktime file of it's audio, so I am left with 6 mono files (these could be separate or poly)?
I know this can be done within an NLE but I was wondering if Quicktime 7 has this capability or Wave agent?

+1 Dave. Offhand I can only think of QT pro, but there are lots of muxer utilities available for MPEG 2 and 4. Otherwise, Wave Agent can convert poly/mono.

If the QT has them all as separate mono sound files within, you can extract them with QT Pro by going to the "Movie Inspector" and hitting extract on each one, then saving each one separately. I've found that Adobe Audition makes it easy if your trying to save out individual mono stem AIFF/WAV files. Just right click the file once it's loaded into Audition and choose "Extract Channels to Mono Files", then save each one. I would love to find a nice utility, that would do it even quicker.

Didn't Apple do away with QT Pro? I know it existed through QT 6 or 7, but last I checked the only way you could get the "pro" features was by installing FCP.

OP if you don't have access to QTP then "MPEG Streamclip" is the tool to use. It's free and is very handy to have.

Looks like you can still buy it separately if you don't have the older FCP, but i think you may still get QT pro access with the newer FCPX.

Although Mpeg Streamclip does allow you to do a lot of the Pro stuff, I haven't found a way to export discreet mono audio channels for 5.1 stems. It only allows to export the mixed audio.
