Stretched image after compression

I have done a lot of searching and testing and can't figure this out.
Camera settings: 24pa / squeeze mode
FCP settings: advanced pulldown/23.98/etc.

Problem:
My image on FCP is 16:9 letterboxed on my browser/canvas but when I export to compressor: MPEG-2 high quality 60 min. widescreen the image is horiz. stretched out. It still letterboxes on my 16:9 television. I tried to export it without widescreen and the image looks right but is still letterboxed. It is the same if I open it in Quicktime.
I am basically asking how I can get a 16:9 full screen image on a 16:9 tv.
Any help with what setting I have wrong would be greatly appreciated because I am running out of ideas.
Thanks!

I was able to make a mpeg-2 high quality encode widescreen look right in compressor because I found out you can crop it. So once you pick the right encode after exporting to compressor just open the preview window then drag the red square up and down to fit around your image. It only does this on the right side as to show a sort of before and after split screen. Then leave it there and hit submit. My final product was a full screen 16:9 that looks just like I shot it.
Test it out on a small clip so you don't have to wait for a 20 hour render to realize it was wrong like I did.
