wondered if anyone has tried to place a lot of accessories on the cold shoe at the same time? I am thinking of buying this

in order to attach 3 items - the Vidled cool light with battery, sennheiser evolution receiver, & a rode ntg2 shotgun mic mounted on sabra som shockmount. I am worried that the dvx shoe mount will be put under too much strain, particularly with the weight of the rode mic. Has anyone tried loading the shoe mount with so much stuff & if so what were the results? need to know if it's too much before I order one. If it's ok, does anyone from the uk know where I can get one? Many thanks

that will work lots of ppl have them. you could also go to rycote.com and get the hot shoe extension bar.

thanks bilgami, can get the rycote from here in the uk, just wondered if it's long enough to hold the 3 items i've mentioned? After an exhaustive search found that some guy has 3.5lb of weight on his shoe mount so weight shouldn't be an issue

they have several sizes i have the small one and the big one on order. but ill tell you what i did also. i took off the orginal mic cup holder on the cam and i bought this http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=4403&A=details&Q=&sku=133276&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation then i cut it off at the "L" so all i had was a straight bar then i drilled two holes at the bottom to match the holes on mic holder of the cam and i used the same screws that hold the mic holder then i screwed on the bar and now i have a bar with two hotshoes and the hot shoe extn bar for all my stuff als this helps http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=12950&A=details&Q=&sku=225809&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation to hold my shotgun mic. i hope this helps you.
