We have tried exporting our project several times using "Current Settings." The sequence is ProRes 422, 1920X1080, 24fps (not 23.98).
In certain scenes, but one particular scene is worse than others, we are seeing strange flashes before each cut after we export.
Going through frame by frame we can see that the brightness levels are changing just before each cut. One of our producers says it looks like something he saw in film days when the color timing was off, but this is digital, and we haven't done any correction yet.
It doesn't show up when we play it back in FCP, only on export.
