Strange FCP question

I think the answer is no.

In the browser where the clips sit, scroll along horizontally until you see the size of the footage. DV or standard is 720 by 480(or it might be 640 by 480). Guessing your clip is gonna be smaller.

Also, see what codec your footage is. is it a quicktime .mov file? If it has some sort of different name, you might be able to switch the sequence codec(I'm sure i'm using the wrong terminology), to be the same as the footage which may make a difference.

A method that would correct the size is to open the clip in the viewer. Click the motion tab, then re-scale the footage until it fits correctly in the window. Problem with this is that you'll most probably lose a lot of resolution and not like how it looks.

If the clip ain't that long, you could keep a copy of your existing final clip. Re capture at the right settings, then quickly match up to how you edited the first copy going back and forth from the finished sequence to the one your editing.(that isn't what you want to hear).

Now, someone with actual final cut knowledge will probably come along and completely disprove what I've said, but in the meantime I've given you at least a few things to try.
