Strange Double Image on Open Iris

My DVX has some kind of problem where when I open the iris up, the image starts to double. It is fine up to about f2.8. Then at f2.4 and open, I get odd ghosting images. Up to there, the images are beautiful.

I asked a repair shop in NYC to look at it, but they could not see what I meant. But Timur could see it when I showed him.

I want to try to get this fixed, but I don't know what's wrong with it. Has ANYONE seen this before??????

Here is a sample of something I shot yesterday: You can see it start to happen at f2.4 on this guy in the background. It's typically worse on wide shots than close-ups.

The camera is way out of warranty, but I don't care. I will glady pay, if I can just get it fixed...

I have seen this on NO other DVX. Am I insane???

Hi. Are you shooting in compressed mode? Is the vertical lines set to thick?

No and no. I feel like I have tried about every possible combination of settings in trying to sort this out. It's just weird NO ONE has ever seen it before...

Try to remove the UV filter if you have one... see if it helps.

Have you tried resetting the camera? Another long shot, but I guess it couldn't hurt.

yeah, tried resetting. Testing today, I noticed that this seems to happen really only on whites...

I see what you're talking about, but have no idea what you could do. Maybe if you showed the repair shop that still frame instead of video if that's what you showed.

It's not really noticable, though, unless you look for it (which I'm sure you can't have).

Yeah, that's the next step, take a still to the repair shop. I can duplicate it, but it is not noticable through the view finder or the little screen.
