Strange cropping issues with Vegas 8?

[grantly]

So I've been editing in Vegas 8.0 and I'm a bit of a novice so please forgive me, but I'm unsure as to what resolution I should use for 1:33 24p footage. This is what it keeps doing to me:

Any advice? Thanks so much!

Well, there are couple of places where something can go wrong to produce this.

1) Your timeline may not match your footage. Are you using the 24p DV (not widescreen) template?

2) It more often happens when rendering -- what are your render settings?
