strange audio sync problem

Just starting with FCP, so I'll bet this is a pretty easy problem to fix... but for some reason when I play back video out of final pro with headphones plugged in I get what looks to be audio sync problems. I unplug the headphones and it's fine. If I play the clips in quicktime it's fine... I have a miniDV deck plugged in via firewire, could that have something to do with it? Also, I'm not able to hear any audio when I'm scrolling through video in the capture window. Any help is appreciated!

I don't get the headphones thing unless its just your eyes tricking you. But where is it looking out of sync exactly, like on your computer monitor or on another external monitor you're viewing with?

As for hearing audio during the log and capture process, if you want to hear it on your internal speakers, on the second tab in the log and capture window, under the audio section, there is a preview check box. Turn it on.

Make sure to have your headphones plugged into the same source as the video you are looking at. If you are looking at video from the MiniDV deck, the headphones should be plugged into the deck. If you are looking at video from the DV deck and have headphones plugged into your computer (or vice versa), video and audio will not be in sync.
