Anybody used this and happy with it? It seems like the 6" version is somewhere between a mole 2831 and a 407 using the same bulbs. All equal I'd buy a mole or arri but these seem very inexpensive used.
I have the 2k Fresnelite. It is a good instrument, but it is an older version that takes a bayonet lamp instead of the more modern 2 pin (CYX?) They are a bargain, but are heavier than Arris (so are Moles....). IIRC, a bigger lens will give a little more output with any given wattage lamp (and be prettier light also)

I have a 2k strand castor (kind of a beast at 25lbs) that I picked it up a couple of years ago off ebay, I think with shipping (including bulb and barndoors) it was $31 total (I believe I have the cyx version). I picked up a couple of the 1k fresnelite that I'll be getting soon and spiffing up (rough looking but work). My dad picked up a light a few years ago and at the time I didn't know what it was ($8 at a brick and mortar auction). Someone had painted it with blotchy white paint. It worked fine and I finally took another look at it and figured out that it was a source four elliptical.
