Any free good software, for this? Im using CeltX, and I understand there is storyboarding there, but it would be cool to have a paint brush, to fill in the boxes.
Should i just use flash?
BTW, here is my film im writing currently, its a Fantasy.
There's nothing shameful in using the old fashioned pencil and paper, especially if you are the Director/DP for the film. The storyboard step in a low budget production like the one I assume you are heading for is more for organizational purposes. It'll help you figure out what shots and coverage to get in order to be able to edit efficiently, so it doesn't really matter if its composed of polished flash/3D renders or sketched out stick-figure drawings on lined paper.
I've got to admit, storyboarding is definitely not my strength. The only thing I draw is flies! (Are flies?)
Anyway, for my new feature 'Tangled Web', the whole movie takes place in 3 rooms in my house. So I've got the rooms pretty much dressed the way I want, and I'm taking pics with my digital camera, using friends as stand-ins.
I'll be creating a webpage using the pics as a storyboard, so my actors and crew can study it in advance to get some feel for blocking, camera positions, light positions, etc. Crude? Yeah....but it works.
