My little story that happened to me during my first semester of Film school. Me and my buddies were walking down the east side of 23rd street by second ave to hang out next to the east river. We were less then a block away from our school, SVA, you could easily see it's colorful flags hanging outside from where we were. We saw a whole bunch of lights and large trucks all congregated at the NE corner of 23rd and 2nd. We crossed the street to see what it was. We realize that it was a film being made right infront of us. Curiouse filmmakers that we were, we walk on over to check out the rigs and equipment they use(funny how we didnt care what thte movie was about or who was in it). As we walk up, we stand staring with jaws dropped at the beautiful 35mm cam setup on a rig for a OTS car shot. As we were taking in the methods of a hollywood film we realized that we werent excatly in the same are that the public was, we happend to be a few feet from the camera-rigged car, and right next to the buffey table. Us starving artists realized how close we were to the table, and since we were already there, why the hell not. We started taking a couple of bags off chips and any other concelable snacks when a tall man approached us. David Ducovney? My friend decided to shout out like an idiot. Yes, it was good ole x-files guy, he walked over and started talking to us. We soon realized that there was another noticeable actress that was right next to him.. Julian Moore. They had both turn to us, not so much concerned with our need for food, but to see who we were and why we were there. We started asking him about the film, Julian grew a little bored of explaining a film that she didnt seem to care too much about and half way through our conversation, rudly walked out and into her trailer across the street. But David decided to stay with us. As we were learning what the film was from him, the hair dresser walked over and asked us, with a voice that sounded like she was speaking to a 3 year old, "do you know what this is?" David stopped talking and looked at her in confused manner. she then proceeded to ask us, in her stupid voice that just deemened us as young adults, "that is called an OTS shot, do you want to know what that means?" My buddies and I just staired at each other confused, we looked at David and he also didn't understand why this moronic hair dresser walk in on our conversation to ask us stupid questions as such. My buddy turned to us and then turned back to her and used a demining voice that reflected her's, "yes, it means over the shoulder, we go to film school, the one right there" David laughed, and then turned to her, and said, "I think you might be needed somewhere other then here". We all laughed, and she walke away irritated as anything else. David finished our convorsation and we sat in triumph as David Ducovny protected our filmhood.

The movie was a romantic comedy starrring David and Julian, but I dont know the name through all that, and havent seen any commercials for it, so i assume it was canned or a strait to video gig. hope you enjoyed my little reality bite.

PS - Anybody with similar odd big time movie stories like this, please share!!!

Haha, acually I just looked it up on IMDB, its apparently called Trust the Man, although it has no description saying it is a Romantic comedy, it has Julian Moore on the cast and says it is in post-production

http://imdb.com/title/tt0427968/

and yes, along with my ohter spelling mistakes, I spelt his name wrong, "David Duchovny"

That's a great story. I bet she was shocked when you told her the answer to her question.

Years ago I was walking with some friends through downtown Seattle. We reached Pioneer Park and, while walking, I noticed everyone in the park was just standing PERFECTLY still. They were like manequins. Some were in different positions. Frozen in a running position, smiling or laughing with a friend, etc. But they were all frozen! My friends didn't notice everyone else, they just kept walking. I had stopped and was just in awe of how freaky this was. My friends looked back and asked, "What?" and I said, "Look!" My friends looked around and their jaws dropped. We just all stood in the middle of this park in which time had stopped. Our surreal experience came to an abrupt end when some guy with headphones on came running over to us and pulled us from the center of the park and behind some bushes. He said, "We're shooting a scene for a movie!" Just then we heard "Action!" and everyone in the park started walking again and then some actors ran through the park being chased by police. It was for "The Fugitive", no not the movie, the TV series. D'oh! It was the strangest thing I've ever seen (up until the part the PA said, "Pssst! Get over here!"
