I have this new hobbie.. Its storm chasing.. What you do is go to the NOAA Storm prediction website and it gives you forecasting of storms. Then you take out and try and intercept it. You use maps and weather radio if you dont have live doplar feed with wireless or satellite. Then you follow behond it and film the action or you core punch and get to the other side to film the action coming to you or you just do a basic intercept. Last night I chased a tornado supercell through 4 counties and about 100 miles I got lots of great footage and storm damage.. Tractor trailers truned over, trees in highway we had to drive around, roofs torn off, silo in the middle of the highway.. injured folks from the debris, etc, etc.
It draws quit a spectacal lots of people stop to watch. Get to meet people.. And it can be a babe magnet too, hehehe ;D They all want to know who you are etc, etc,
Have you ever seen Baseball sized hail? I have heard rumors about it but last evening I saw it and held it in my hand. I hooked up with the University of Missouri Storm chase team and it was one of the best times I ever had in my life. I cant quit thinking about it and the pics I got "Shock and Awe" is the only descriptive word.
