Anyone else ever stopped a movie right in the middle? Not really because you didn't care -- but mainly because the whole movie in general just angered you?

For me this is DEFINITELY Moulin Rouge. This movie made me want to rip faces off. Using found pop music like that I find to be totally repulsive and just plain wrong.

I think I can say with conviction that I genuinely Hate this movie...

yep.

So what do you guys got?

METRO

I walked out of the theatre on this one.

The only other time I've ever done that was Gods and Generals. Don't even get me started on that piece of historical crap.

A bad movie is like a train wreck. I just want to see how bad it gets.

i actually like Moulin Rouge. I found it to be a very entertaining movie. it was very well written and the use of the camera was very good IMHO.

I concur Ravinsedge.

Also I have found on more than one occasion that that movie is chastity kryptonite to some ladies.

I love these new emoticons...

okay Ravine, We all have our things. Personally, hearing those people sing those songs made me crap glass for the next two weeks.
But no amount of good camera work could make me enjoy this movie.

I have never hated Ewan Mcgregor like this before -- not even in Star Wars.

There's no room for discussion between us though, buddy. I guess it's just opinion.

If I could have One Free Kill, Baz Luhrmann is right up there with Affleck.

Constant Gardner is a recent film I just turned off. A little over halfway thourhg it just; Click !

How this film is up for an Oscar is proof that Aliens live amongst us.

Bad movies can be cool thogh; a recent watching of NAVY SEALS and I was loving every minute.

I really liked the movie. But as I said in the thread discussing it, I'm a big fan of the source material and its writer: John LeCarre. He can be a bit ponderous so I realize he's not for everyone. Some of his other books to film:
The Spy Who Came In From the Could
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
Smiley's People
The Little Drummer Girl
The Tailor of Panama
The Russia House

Okay. I have one that I stopped because it was SO bad. "From Dusk Till Dawn". I eventually went back and watched the whole thing because I felt I had to...Tarantino, Rodriguez, Keitel, the Hammer et. al. I felt Tarantino and Rodriguez were just "mailing it in." I like most of what both of them do...just not this one.

Yeah, I can understand how this movie would throw you. Personally, I was laughing my a** off! The whole thing felt like a joke between Rodriguez and Tarantino. It starts out as a classic Tarantino heist type of movie, and just pulls a FULL 180 with the vampires. I loved it.

I think maybe this one goes with the "good bad movie" theory John_Hudson is talking about.

Hahaha, same here: I'm so intrigued to see how it CAN'T SURELY continue like this, but then it just does....

I don't know, John... I recently watched Gardener in a theater and it wasn't THAT bad. Certainly nowhere near the City of God greatness. Too slow and boring for a detective/thriller, too sterile for a social drama about the horrors of the 3rd world life.... Hmmm, maybe it wasn't even good in the end. Come to think of it, acting is the only thing worth noting about that movie.
I guess I was just trying too hard to like it/to undestand it thinking "Man, this is Meireless and it's said to be good, smart and touching... it has to be good".

I watched Syriana today and it's a much better movie. Much more "in your face", much more moving and much smarter, Although also very slow paced and constructed mostly of dialogues (and you wouldn't wanna miss a single minute for it could become way too confusing), it's this movie out of the two, that I won't forget for quite a while. Very similar to Traffic, by the way, and Clooney's nomination is well deserved.

I hear you and TC about this "let it play out, it'll be funny" I do it all the time -- Especially with Steven Seagal!

But c'mon! There has to been a time when a movie has just ANGERED you. Just infuriated you to the point where you didn't want to watch anymore??

For me this was also Once Upon a Time in Mexico -- only because for some stupid reason I had some high expectations to see a kick*ss action movie, and I was sorely, sorely mistaken.

:furious3:<<<me in the theater.

So put all of the "ohh, that's so bad it's funny" movies aside, and get into those that made you suddenly agitated.

:violent5:

Southpark Uncut (I think that was the title)

I'm a Southpark fan from way way back when the animation looked like stop motion contruction paper cut outs. But certain things just dont make me laugh.

So yeah, I admit it. I left in a huff. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I see that on Comedy Central late nights sometimes. It's one of my favorite musicals. Usually i hate humor that disgusting and extreme but there's something about how Matt and Trey implement it that makes it a little less odious and a little more funny then most gross out humor.

As for Gardener, i thought it was really well done however it worked more as a love story for me then a political intrigue. For political goodness this year i prefer the styles of Syriana and Good Night and Good Luck. As for City of God, i really liked the premise. However i liked it more when i saw something similar in HATE. That is a powerful political film.
