Tried searching, but am not finding any answers-
Looking to do some claymation, and wondering what I can do with the DVX100a.

Is there a single frame setting that I'm not seeing? Will I be able to tap the record button on and off hundreds of times without breaking anything?

Do I need a different camera? (please no...)

Just use a digital camera, still cameras are used for stop motion.

I don't have a working still camera, though. Is there a way to accomplish a single-frame shot with the 100a?

Just do a few second roll on the camera and take 1 frame in post. I've done several things like this. If there is an automated way to do it I don't know what it is.

How about using a program to capture directly from the camera to the computer?
What program would be best at that?
In that case I wouldn't have to touch the camera and likely screw up the framing.

I have PPro 1.5, access to Avid Xpress, and DV Rack- what would be my best option for that kind of realtime still capture?
